Daily Bible Reading: 1Corinthians 1, 2Samuel 16-18
THE WEAK THAT STRONGER THAN THE WISE
This world may see the believers as a group of foolish people because we love to choose holiness over our own will. This world may see the disciples as a group of weak people since we decide to always choose peace rather than revenge. But truly we are the weak that stronger than the wise of this world!
Paul wrote to the Corinthians: “God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty 1Cor.1:27.” The most important thing is about what God say about us and not about what this world may say about us. We are who God says we are!
Back to the days when Paul wrote the letter to the Corinthians, people reckoned the message of the cross is the foolishness and people who followed the cross of Jesus were foolish people 1Cor.1:18. And maybe it still happens until now! But, Paul encouraged believers that the cross is the power of God. We are the weak that hidden behind the cross of Christ, and that is the only reason that will make us stronger than anyone else outside the cross, and it will make us wiser then anyone else outside the salvation. The message is clear and simple. We must keep ourselves behind the cross of Christ at all times, don’t even take a single step away from the Christ, so we can glory in the Lord!
LEMAH NAMUN LEBIH KUAT DARIPADA YANG BIJAKSANA
Dunia ini mungkin melihat orang percaya sebagai sekelompok orang bodoh karena kita lebih suka memilih kekudusan daripada kehendak diri sendiri. Dunia ini mungkin melihat murid Kristus sebagai sekelompok orang lemah karena kita memutuskan untuk selalu memilih perdamaian daripada pembalasan. Namun sesungguhnya kita adalah yang lemah namun lebih kuat daripada yang bijaksana menurut dunia ini!
Paulus menulis kepada orang-orang Korintus, ”Tetapi apa yang bodoh bagi dunia, dipilih Allah untuk memalukan orang-orang yang berhikmat, dan apa yang lemah bagi dunia, dipilih Allah untuk memalukan apa yang kuat 1Kor.1:27.” Yang paling penting adalah tentang apa yang Allah katakan tentang kita dan bukan tentang apa yang dunia katakan tentang kita. Kita adalah seperti yang Tuhan katakan tentang kita!
Kembali ke zaman ketika Paulus menulis surat kepada jemaat Korintus, orang menganggap pemberitaan tentang salib adalah kebodohan dan orang-orang yang mengikuti salib Yesus adalah orang-orang bodoh 1Kor.1:18. Dan mungkin itu masih terjadi sampai sekarang! Tetapi, Paulus membangkitkan orang-orang percaya bahwa salib adalah kekuatan Allah. Kita adalah yang lemah namun tersembunyi di balik salib Kristus, dan itulah satu-satunya alasan yang akan membuat kita lebih kuat daripada orang lain di luar salib, dan membuat kita lebih bijak daripada orang lain di luar keselamatan. Pesannya jelas dan sederhana. Kita harus menjaga diri kita di balik salib Kristus senantiasa, jangan pernah mengambil satu langkah pun keluar dari Kristus, sehingga kita dapat bermegah dalam Tuhan!
