WHEN GOD SENT THE TRENDSETTER

Sometimes we may not understand the way how God would accomplish His plan for believers. That’s why it is very important for us to keep following the will of God step by step. Back to the days of John the Baptist, not all people was keen enough to follow his message. The Bible wrote: “And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him Luk.7:29-30.”

The idea and concept of baptism was introduced since the day of Moses 1Cor.10:2 but no one ever doing baptism like what John did in those days. It was something totally new, the new revelation, a new trend brought by John the Baptist! Somehow, the Pharisees and lawyers rejected it and the Bible recorded it as the rejection of the will of God for themselves!

God is always keep moving and keep working to accomplish His plan. We may not totally understand at once about all reasons behind His works but having a humble heart will help us to always be in the right track of God’s plan. Even Jesus gave us an example to follow how He humbled Himself and be baptized by John to fulfil all righteousness Mat.3:15. In the days of early church, again God brought something new when Holy Spirit worked mightily among the disciples and gave them a new tongue. So, what would you do when God sent the trendsetter in our days?

KETIKA ALLAH MENGIRIMKAN TRENDSETTER

Terkadang kita mungkin tidak dapat mengerti bagaimana Tuhan akan menggenapkan rencana-Nya bagi orang percaya. Itulah sebabnya sangat penting bagi kita untuk terus mengikuti kehendak Tuhan selangkah demi selangkah. Pada zaman Yohanes Pembaptis, tidak semua orang cukup antusias mengikuti pesannya. Alkitab mencatat: “Seluruh orang banyak yang mendengar perkataan-Nya, termasuk para pemungut cukai, mengakui kebenaran Allah, karena mereka telah memberi diri dibaptis oleh Yohanes. Tetapi orang-orang Farisi dan ahli-ahli Taurat menolak maksud Allah terhadap diri mereka, karena mereka tidak mau dibaptis oleh Yohanes Luk.7:29-30.”

Gagasan dan konsep baptisan telah diperkenalkan sejak zaman Musa 1Kor.10:2 tetapi tidak ada yang pernah melakukan baptisan seperti yang dilakukan Yohanes pada masa itu. Hal itu adalah sesuatu yang benar-benar baru, pewahyuan yang baru, tren baru yang dibawa oleh Yohanes Pembaptis! Sayangnya, orang Farisi dan ahli Taurat menolaknya dan Alkitab mencatat hal itu sebagai penolakan terhadap kehendak Allah atas diri mereka!

Tuhan selalu bergerak dan terus bekerja untuk menyelesaikan rencana-Nya. Kita mungkin tidak sepenuhnya dapat mengerti sekaligus tentang semua alasan di balik pekerjaan-Nya, namun dengan memiliki kerendahan hati akan menolong kita untuk selalu berada di jalur yang benar dalam rencana Allah. Bahkan Yesus memberi teladan untuk kita ikuti bagaimana Dia merendahkan diri dan dibaptis oleh Yohanes untuk menggenapi seluruh kehendak Allah Mat.3:15. Pada masa gereja mula-mula, sekali lagi Tuhan membawa sesuatu yang baru ketika Roh Kudus bekerja dengan luar biasa di antara para murid dan memberikan bahasa yang baru bagi mereka. Jadi, apa yang akan Saudara lakukan ketika Tuhan mengirimkan trendsetter di zaman kita?
