Daily Bible Reading: Revelation 6, Amos 1-3

THE HORSES

The first four seals were different with the rest. Every time the seal was opened, a horse with specific colour came up and was granted with an authority to do something Rev.6:1-8. Back to those days, the horse is the fastest animal to reach all places Est.8:10.

When the disciples asked Jesus about the sign of His coming and of the end of the age, Jesus explained several signs that will happen all around the world, in various places, very quickly reach all places in all this earth Mat.24:7, Luk.17:24. Jesus spoke about the false Christ who will deceive so many people, which is the first seal, the white horse that will conquer Rev.6:1-2. Jesus spoke about the big trouble that will take peace from the earth, which is the second seal, the red horse with a great sword Rev.6:3-4.

And then Jesus spoke about the days of Lot where people was very busy with bought and sold, which is the third seal, the black horse with a pair of scales in his hand Rev.6:5-6. And the last but not least, Jesus also spoke about famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places that will kill so many people, which is the fourth seal, the pale horse with power to kill fourth of the earth Rev.6:7-8. All of these troubles will happen very swift just like a horse that flee! Paul wrote: “Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night 1Thes.5:6-7.” Those who drunk will not aware when all those seals are taking place, but the sons of light will fully aware and get ready for that glorious day.

KUDA-KUDA

Keempat meterai yang pertama berbeda dengan yang lainnya. Setiap kali meterai dibuka, seekor kuda dengan warna tertentu tampil dan mendapat kuasa untuk melakukan sesuatu Wah.6:1-8. Pada masa itu, kuda adalah binatang tercepat untuk mencapai semua tempat Est.8:10.

Ketika murid-murid bertanya pada Yesus tentang tanda kedatangan-Nya dan tanda kesudahan dunia, Yesus menjelaskan beberapa tanda yang akan terjadi di seluruh dunia, di berbagai tempat, dengan sangat cepat mencapai semua tempat di seluruh bumi ini Mat.24:7, Luk.17:24. Yesus berbicara tentang Kristus palsu yang akan menipu begitu banyak orang, yaitu meterai pertama, kuda putih yang akan merebut kemenangan Wah.6:1-2. Yesus berbicara tentang masalah besar yang akan mengambil damai sejahtera dari atas bumi, yaitu meterai kedua, kuda merah dengan pedang yang besar Wah.6:3-4.

Dan kemudian Yesus berbicara tentang zaman Lot di mana orang sangat sibuk dengan menjual dan membeli, yaitu meterai ketiga, kuda hitam dengan sepasang timbangan di tangannya Wah.6:5-6. Dan yang terakhir, Yesus juga berbicara tentang kelaparan, sampar, dan gempa bumi di berbagai tempat yang akan membunuh begitu banyak orang, yaitu meterai keempat, kuda hijau kuning dengan kuasa untuk membunuh yang seperempat dari bumi Wah.6:7-8. Semua masalah ini akan berlangsung dengan sangat cepat seperti seekor kuda yang lari! Paulus menulis, ”Sebab itu baiklah jangan kita tidur seperti orang-orang lain, tetapi berjaga-jaga dan sadar. Sebab mereka yang tidur, tidur waktu malam dan mereka yang mabuk, mabuk waktu malam 1Tes.5:6-7.” Mereka yang mabuk tidak akan sadar ketika semua meterai itu berlangsung, tetapi anak-anak terang akan sepenuhnya sadar dan bersiap-siap untuk hari yang mulia itu.
