BEAUTIFUL THINGS AT THE BEAUTIFUL GATE

One of the gate of the Holy Temple was called the Beautiful Gate and a lame man used to sit there asking for alms. But one day that lame man was leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with Peter and John! Maybe that was the most beautiful thing ever happened at the Beautiful Gate.

Peter explained to the crowd: “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all Ac.3:16.” The secret of that beautiful thing happened was faith in the name of Jesus! Our faith will bring beautiful things from heaven to happen in our life. That simple lame man gave his full attention to John and Peter, expecting to receive something from them. And he had faith when they mentioned the name of Jesus that far more precious than gold and silver.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen Heb.11:1. Being lame is definitely a big restriction for that man, it makes him disable for doing anything except for sit and ask for alms. But the name of Jesus more than able to lift up that restriction so that he could leap, stand, and walk enter the temple. The true faith will bring us deeper to the presence of God! So, let’s walk by faith, not by sight 2Cor.5:7.

HAL-HAL INDAH DI PINTU GERBANG INDAH

Salah satu gerbang Bait Suci disebut Gerbang Indah dan seorang lelaki lumpuh biasa duduk di sana meminta sedekah. Tetapi suatu hari pria lumpuh itu melompat, berdiri dan berjalan memasuki Bait Allah bersama Petrus dan Yohanes! Mungkin itu adalah hal terindah yang pernah terjadi di Gerbang Indah.

Petrus menjelaskan kepada orang banyak, “Dan karena kepercayaan dalam Nama Yesus, maka Nama itu telah menguatkan orang yang kamu lihat dan kamu kenal ini; dan kepercayaan itu telah memberi kesembuhan kepada orang ini di depan kamu semua Kis.3:16.” Rahasia dari hal indah yang terjadi itu adalah iman dalam nama Yesus! Iman kita akan membawa hal-hal indah dari surga terjadi dalam hidup kita. Orang lumpuh yang sederhana itu memberikan perhatian penuh pada Yohanes dan Petrus, berharap untuk menerima sesuatu dari mereka. Dan dia memiliki iman ketika mereka menyebut nama Yesus yang jauh lebih berharga daripada emas dan perak.

Iman adalah dasar dari segala sesuatu yang kita harapkan dan bukti dari segala sesuatu yang tidak kita lihat Ibr.11:1. Kelumpuhan adalah hambatan besar bagi pria itu, kelumpuhan membuatnya tidak dapat melakukan apa pun kecuali duduk dan meminta sedekah. Tetapi nama Yesus berkuasa mengangkat hambatan itu sehingga dia bisa melompat, berdiri, dan berjalan memasuki Bait Suci. Iman yang benar akan membawa kita lebih dalam ke hadirat Allah! Jadi, mari berjalan dengan iman, hidup karena percaya, bukan karena melihat 2Kor.5:7.
