Daily Bible Reading: Acts 6, Numbers 12-14
RIGHT PERSON IN THE RIGHT PLACE
At the beginning of the early church, the 12 apostles managed everything by themselves until a complaint arose. The apostles were then aware that it was a critical time to involve more people in the ministry so that no one neglected, just like what happened in the day of Moses when Jethro, his father-in-law, suggested him to involve more people to lead Israel Ex.18:17-23. The apostles decided to give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word Ac.6:4, and in the same time there must be other persons who will be responsible for diakonia (the daily distribution, serve tables).
The church also called as the body of Christ Ro.12:5. Every member of the church must be in the right place so that the function of church can run accordingly and effectively. The right person must be in the right place. The apostles should not bother themselves with serving the tables as they must focus in prayer and ministry of the word. All member of the church must give themselves willingly to be placed in each area of ministry so that the church can run better to fulfil its calling.
The church need all of its member to work together happily and passionately. Let’s give ourselves for the ministry in our local church, even always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labour is not in vain in the Lord 1Cor.15:58.

Di awal gereja mula-mula, ke-12 rasul mengatur semuanya sendiri sampai kemudian timbul keluhan. Para rasul kemudian menyadari bahwa itu adalah saat yang kritis untuk melibatkan lebih banyak orang dalam pelayanan sehingga tidak ada yang diabaikan, sama seperti apa yang terjadi pada zaman Musa ketika Yitro, ayah mertuanya, menyarankan dia untuk melibatkan lebih banyak orang untuk memimpin Israel Kel.18:17-23. Para rasul memutuskan untuk memusatkan pikiran dalam doa dan pelayanan Firman Kis.6:4, sedangkan pada saat yang sama juga harus ada orang lain yang bertanggung jawab untuk diakonia (pelayanan sehari-hari, melayani meja).
Gereja juga disebut sebagai tubuh Kristus Ro.12:5. Setiap anggota gereja harus berada di tempat yang tepat sehingga fungsi gereja dapat berjalan baik dan efektif. Orang yang tepat harus berada di tempat yang tepat. Para rasul tidak seharusnya merepotkan diri dengan melayani meja karena mereka harus fokus dalam doa dan pelayanan Firman. Semua anggota gereja harus memberikan diri untuk ditempatkan di setiap bidang pelayanan agar gereja dapat berjalan lebih baik dalam memenuhi panggilannya.
Gereja membutuhkan semua anggotanya untuk bekerja bersama dengan sukacita dan bersemangat. Mari kita memberikan diri untuk pelayanan di gereja lokal kita, bahkan selalu berlimpah dalam pekerjaan Tuhan, sebab kita tahu bahwa dalam persekutuan dengan Tuhan jerih payah kita tidak sia-sia 1Kor.15:58.
