Daily Bible reading: Matthew 10:1-15, Genesis 33-35
FREELY GIVE
The twelve were sent with a command: Freely you have received, freely give. What did they receive from Jesus? Power and authority to heal the sick, to cleanse the lepers, to raise the dead, to cast out demons!
Believers receive so many heavenly blessings from the first day they decided to follow Jesus with all their heart. Salvation is the greatest gift someone ever received. As many as receive Jesus, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God Jn.1:12. Signs will follow those who believe Mk.16:17-18. All these blessings we receive freely. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast Eph.2:8-9. God bless us so that our life could bless others.
We may not meet the sick and the lepers every time. We may not see the dead every day. But we do meet people all the time, friends, family, neighbours. Let’s start freely give them something that we received freely from Jesus. We are loved by God so that we can share that love to others, maybe with our ears, or with our time. We are forgiven so that we can release forgiveness to others. We are accepted by God so that we can open our hand to accept those who is rejected. We live in peace with God so that we can be the peacemaker wherever we may go.
BERIKAN DENGAN CUMA-CUMA
Kedua belas murid diutus dengan perintah: Kamu telah memperolehnya dengan cuma-cuma, karena itu berikanlah pula dengan cuma-cuma. Apa yang mereka terima dari Yesus? Kuasa dan otoritas untuk menyembuhkan orang sakit, menahirkan orang kusta, membangkitkan orang mati, mengusir setan!
Orang-orang percaya menerima begitu banyak berkat surgawi sejak hari pertama mereka memutuskan untuk mengikuti Yesus dengan sepenuh hati. Keselamatan adalah hadiah terbesar yang pernah diterima seseorang. Semua orang yang menerima-Nya diberi-Nya kuasa supaya menjadi anak-anak Allah Yoh.1:12. Ada tanda-tanda yang akan menyertai orang-orang percaya Mrk.16:17-18. Semua berkat ini diterima dengan gratis. Itu adalah karunia Allah, bukan hasil pekerjaan kita, jangan ada orang yang memegahkan diri Ef.2:8-9. Tuhan memberkati kita agar hidup kita bisa memberkati orang lain.
Kita mungkin tidak bertemu orang sakit dan orang kusta setiap saat. Kita mungkin tidak melihat orang mati setiap hari. Tetapi kita bertemu sesama kita tiap saat, teman, keluarga, tetangga. Mari kita mulai memberi mereka secara gratis sesuatu yang telah kita terima dari Yesus dengan cuma-cuma. Kita dicintai oleh Tuhan sehingga kita dapat membagikan cinta itu pada orang lain, mungkin dengan memberikan telinga kita, atau dengan memberikan waktu kita. Kita diampuni sehingga kita dapat melepaskan pengampunan pada orang lain. Kita diterima oleh Tuhan sehingga kita dapat membuka tangan untuk menerima mereka yang ditolak. Kita hidup dalam damai dengan Allah sehingga kita bisa menjadi pembawa damai di mana pun kita pergi.
