BETTER THAN A SHEEP

During the day of Shabbat, the Pharisees will allow a person to lift up a sheep from the pit, but they will be very upset when a person help others. That’s why Jesus said: “How much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath Mat.12:12.”

Pharisees means to separate. It is a sect that seems to have started after the Jewish exile and they sought for distinction by living a very strict life according to the Law, being separate from common people, but then they lived more in the tradition of the elders rather than God’s command Mrk.7:3-7. Jesus called them as people who honours God with their lips, but their heart was far from God. And in vain they worshipped God as they were teaching for doctrines the commandments of men and not the commandment of God.

Jesus did not want His disciples to be like Pharisees Mat.16:12. Believers must stay away from the doctrine of Pharisees. God’s command is more important rather than the tradition of people. God put the salvation of human being more than everything. It is more important to save and heal the soul of man rather than helping a sheep. Let’s be the followers of Christ, don’t be the followers of Pharisees!

LEBIH BERHARGA DARIPADA DOMBA

Pada hari Sabat, orang Farisi akan mengizinkan seseorang mengeluarkan domba dari dalam lubang, tetapi mereka akan sangat kesal ketika ada seseorang yang membantu orang lain. Itulah sebabnya Yesus berkata: ” Bukankah manusia jauh lebih berharga dari pada domba? Karena itu boleh berbuat baik pada hari Sabat Mat.12:12.”

Arti kata Farisi adalah memisahkan diri. Farisi adalah sekte yang kemungkinan mulai muncul setelah zaman pembuangan orang Yahudi dan mereka ingin tampil berbeda dengan cara menjalankan Hukum Taurat secara ketat, memisahkan diri dari orang-orang biasa pada umumnya, tetapi kemudian mereka berpegang pada adat istiadat nenek moyang lebih dari perintah Tuhan Mrk.7:3-7. Yesus menyebut mereka sebagai orang yang memuliakan Allah dengan bibirnya, padahal hatinya jauh dari Allah. Percuma mereka beribadah pada Allah, sedangkan ajaran yang mereka ajarkan ialah perintah manusia.

Yesus tidak ingin murid-murid-Nya menjadi seperti orang Farisi Mat.16:12. Orang percaya harus menjauhkan diri dari doktrin orang Farisi. Perintah Tuhan jauh lebih penting daripada tradisi manusia. Tuhan menempatkan keselamatan manusia lebih dari segalanya. Jauh lebih penting untuk menyelamatkan dan menyembuhkan jiwa manusia daripada menolong seekor domba. Mari menjadi pengikut Kristus, jangan menjadi pengikut orang Farisi!
