THE PREEMINENCE OF CHRIST

The centre of Christianity is in Christ alone and must be always in Christ. Paul wrote: “And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence Col.1:17-18.”

Back to the days of early church, there were so many enemies who want to attack the deity and the supremacy of Jesus Christ. That was the reason of why Paul sent a letter to the Colossians. The same attack is still happening until now even will be worse at the end times. Apostle John explained: “By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world 1Jn.4:2-3.”

Let’s not be deceived with any attack that may come to our faith. For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist 2Jn.1:7. Jesus is the Son of God that was sent to save this world Jn.3:16. And there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Ac.4:12.

KEUTAMAAN KRISTUS

Yang menjadi pusat kekristenan adalah Kristus saja dan harus selalu Kristus. Paulus menulis: “Ia ada terlebih dahulu dari segala sesuatu dan segala sesuatu ada di dalam Dia. Ialah kepala tubuh, yaitu jemaat. Ialah yang sulung, yang pertama bangkit dari antara orang mati, sehingga Ia yang lebih utama dalam segala sesuatu Kol.1:17-18.”

Pada zaman gereja mula-mula ada begitu banyak musuh yang ingin menyerang keilahian dan kemahakuasaan Yesus Kristus. Itulah alasan mengapa Paulus mengirim surat kepada jemaat di Kolose. Serangan yang sama masih terjadi sampai sekarang bahkan akan lebih buruk di akhir zaman. Rasul Yohanes menjelaskan: “Demikianlah kita mengenal Roh Allah: setiap roh yang mengaku, bahwa Yesus Kristus telah datang sebagai manusia, berasal dari Allah, dan setiap roh, yang tidak mengaku Yesus, tidak berasal dari Allah. Roh itu adalah roh antikristus dan tentang dia telah kamu dengar, bahwa ia akan datang dan sekarang ini ia sudah ada di dalam dunia 1Yoh.4:2-3.”

Jangan tertipu dengan serangan apa pun yang mungkin akan datang pada iman kita. Sebab banyak penyesat telah muncul dan pergi ke seluruh dunia, yang tidak mengaku, bahwa Yesus Kristus telah datang sebagai manusia. Itu adalah si penyesat dan antikristus 2Yoh.1:7. Yesus adalah Putra Allah yang diutus untuk menyelamatkan dunia ini Yoh.3:16. Dan tidak ada nama lain di bawah kolong langit ini yang diberikan kepada manusia yang olehnya kita dapat diselamatkan Kis.4:12.
