Daily Bible Reading: 2Corinthians 5, 1Chronicles 4-6
THE AMBASSADORS
The believers are also called as the ambassadors for Christ! Paul wrote: “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God 2Cor.5:20.”
As the ambassadors, we must be seen and be heard accordingly so that people will notice, respect, and glorify the Most High God who send us out. The ambassadors for Christ must always bring the message about Christ! Jesus had sent us out to go and make disciples of all the nations Mat.28:19. That message also called as the Gospel, the message of salvation, the message of reconciliation. We must speak on behalf of Christ and bring people to come into the salvation that we already received.
As the ambassadors for Christ we also must be seen as Christ. Our way of life must reflect the life of Christ so that people will see Christ through us, through our words, our deeds, our decision, our attitude, and whatever people will see in us. John wrote: “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked 1Jn.2:6.” Let’s be a good ambassador for Christ so that people around us may know Christ and His love more through our life.
PARA UTUSAN
Orang-orang percaya juga disebut sebagai utusan-utusan Kristus! Paulus menulis: “Jadi kami ini adalah utusan-utusan Kristus, seakan-akan Allah menasihati kamu dengan perantaraan kami; dalam nama Kristus kami meminta kepadamu: berilah dirimu didamaikan dengan Allah 2Kor.5:20.”
Sebagai para utusan, kita harus dapat dilihat dan didengar dengan baik sehingga orang akan memperhatikan, menghormati, dan memuliakan Allah Yang Mahatinggi yang telah mengutus kita. Para utusan Kristus harus selalu membawa pesan tentang Kristus! Yesus telah mengutus kita untuk pergi dan menjadikan semua bangsa murid-Nya Mat.28:19. Pesan itu juga disebut sebagai Injil, pesan keselamatan, pesan perdamaian. Kita harus berbicara atas nama Kristus dan membawa orang untuk masuk ke dalam keselamatan yang telah kita terima.
Sebagai para utusan Kristus, kita juga harus dilihat seperti Kristus. Cara hidup kita harus mencerminkan kehidupan Kristus sehingga orang-orang akan melihat Kristus melalui kita, melalui perkataan kita, perbuatan kita, keputusan kita, sikap kita, dan apa pun yang orang akan lihat di dalam kita. Yohanes menulis: “Barangsiapa mengatakan, bahwa ia ada di dalam Dia, ia wajib hidup sama seperti Kristus telah hidup 1Yoh.2:6.” Mari kita menjadi utusan yang baik untuk Kristus sehingga orang-orang di sekitar kita dapat lebih mengenal Kristus dan kasih-Nya melalui hidup kita.
