BEYOND VISION

The love of God will enable us to see beyond what we are able to see with our eyes. Unfortunately, envy had made the Jews blind! Because of envy, they were angry with Jesus. Jesus said: “If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment Jn.7:23-24.”

Jesus encouraged believers to see rightly and then judge correctly. People tend to judge something immediately from the appearance. One time, God said to Samuel about Eliab: “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart 1Sam.16:7.” Regarding judgment, Jesus also said: “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye Mat.7:3?”

So, how can we see something beyond our normal vision? Jesus said: “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye Mat.7:5.” How can we remove the plank and cleanse our way? By taking heed according to God’s word Psa.119:9. A faithful fellowship with the word of God will definitely help us to see everything beyond what ordinary people may see. Instead of judging others with envy, believers will encourage and help others with the love of God. Let us grow in the love of God so that we can always see everything through the eyes of God.

MELAMPAUI YANG DAPAT DILIHAT

Kasih Allah akan memampukan kita untuk melihat melampaui apa yang dapat dilihat dengan mata kita. Sayangnya, iri hati telah membuat orang Yahudi buta! Karena iri hati, mereka marah pada Yesus. Yesus berkata: “Jikalau seorang menerima sunat pada hari Sabat, supaya jangan melanggar hukum Musa, mengapa kamu marah kepada-Ku, karena Aku menyembuhkan seluruh tubuh seorang manusia pada hari Sabat. Janganlah menghakimi menurut apa yang nampak, tetapi hakimilah dengan adil Yoh.7:23-24.”

Yesus mendorong orang percaya untuk melihat dengan benar dan kemudian menghakimi dengan tepat. Manusia cenderung langsung menghakimi sesuatu dari penampilannya. Suatu saat, Allah berkata pada Samuel mengenai Eliab: “Janganlah pandang parasnya atau perawakan yang tinggi, sebab Aku telah menolaknya. Bukan yang dilihat manusia yang dilihat Allah; manusia melihat apa yang di depan mata, tetapi TUHAN melihat hati 1Sam.16:7.” Mengenai penghakiman, Yesus juga berkata: “Mengapakah engkau melihat selumbar di mata saudaramu, sedangkan balok di dalam matamu tidak engkau ketahui Mat.7:3?”

Jadi, bagaimana kita dapat melihat sesuatu melampaui penglihatan normal kita? Yesus berkata, “Hai orang munafik, keluarkanlah dahulu balok dari matamu, maka engkau akan melihat dengan jelas untuk mengeluarkan selumbar itu dari mata saudaramu Mat.7:5.” Bagaimanakah kita dapat mengeluarkan balok dan membersihkan jalan kita? Dengan menjaganya sesuai dengan firman Tuhan Mzm.119:9. Memiliki persekutuan yang terus menerus dengan Firman Allah pastilah akan menolong kita untuk melihat segala sesuatu melampaui apa yang dapat dilihat orang pada umumnya. Daripada menghakimi orang lain dengan iri hati, orang percaya akan menguatkan dan membantu orang lain dengan kasih Allah. Marilah kita bertumbuh dalam kasih Allah sehingga kita dapat selalu melihat segala sesuatu melalui mata Allah.
